I always have a couple of projects going on but none as exciting as this!
My latest project is something I’ve kind of kept under wraps the past year or so. But, it’s time. It’s time to share and I could not be more excited!
For those of you that know me well, you know I’m a huge Wonder Woman fan. And on top of that, a pretty fierce feminist as well. So, my latest book should come as no surprise.
Let me give you a little background… As the summer of 2020 hit and the Pandemic raged on, my family and I took a little vacation to the Adirondacks. One morning as we were hiking, the idea for my latest book hit me. When we got back to our cabin I hastily typed notes into my phone. (As you can see, I even had a different title at the time – and a couple typos!)

Anyhow, when I got home, I began pulling together a book proposal for one of my favorite publishers — Rowman & Littlefield Publishers. Once complete, I sent my proposal to my editor for GenZ: The Superhero Generation, The Millennial Mindset: Unraveling Fact from Fiction, and Brew Your Business. Not quite for her, but she did introduce me to the editor for the pop-culture list, and well, as they say… the rest is history. By October 2020 I had a contract in hand and I was off and running.
From reaching out to Gloria Steinem to interviewing three granddaughters of William Moulton Marston, Elizabeth Holloway, and Olive Byrne, this project has been like none other. Because of that, I’ve decided to write a short series of blog posts on writing this book. As I wrote in the book:
“Writing this book has been a dream come true. For me personally, Wonder Woman made an indelible mark on childhood, and subsequently, my life. My hope is that anyone who picks up this book finds a passage or two that resonates with them and brings them happiness. What I’ve given you is the best parts of me as a writer and a feminist.”
The lessons I learned while working on this project deserve attention. I look forward to sharing my journey with you.
